Functional Features

Working Principle

Adopts a photoelectric coupling element and slot plate structure:

• The central position of the steering wheel is equipped with eight blades and nine light guide slots.
• The light-emitting sensor detects light transmission/blockage status, converting physical rotation into electronic signals.
• The ECU calculates the steering wheel's rotation angle, direction, and speed through pulse quantity and frequency.

Installation Location

Located inside the steering column under the steering wheel, adjacent to the bottom of the steering wheel. Replacement requires removing the steering wheel first.

Common Faults

• The ESP warning light on the instrument panel illuminates, and the vehicle stability control system fails.
• Internal fault code of the steering angle sensor (C220500) with no data stream output.
